VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The city denied a request to circulate a petition submitted by Valley City residents, Brian Mindt, Lloyd Nelson, Gary Schlagel and Robert Drake to get an initiated measure on a citywide ballot to vote up or down on the Streetscape project.
This is the third request submitted by the the Committee for Initiation of City Ordinance in Valley City.
City Auditor Avis Richter said City Attorney Lilie Mertins denied the request being it does not comply with the requirements of the Home Rule Charter. The city denied two previous requests earlier this year being they did not comply with Home Rule Charter requirements.
