VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Valley City scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning in a 11-1 win over Devils Lake Saturday at Tharaldson Field on Senior Day.

Hailey Schafer scattered five hits in five innings of work for the win. She allowed one earned run with a walk and ten strikeouts.

Offensively, the Hi-Liners had 11 hits, all singles. Mackenzie Pederson had three hits, scored a run and drove in two. Grace Scherr, Kacee White and Courtney Lloyd each had two hits and scored twice. Becca Thompson and Schafer had two rbi each.

The Hi-Liners are now 5-1 in the EDC and in third place, and 10-1 overall. They host three huge EDC games this week. Fourth Place West Fargo Sheyenne on Tuesday, Second place West Fargo Thursday and first place Grand Forks Red River on Friday.
