JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Major renovations to the Alfred Dickey Library will be costly.
Thanks to the Friends of the James River Valley Library System (JRVLS) and area support, they’ll be able to fully realize those renovations.
It’s no secret the Alfred Dickey Library will be 100 years old on President’s Day in 2019. In order to be better suited for a 21st Century learning experience, the library has made it their goal to bring themselves into the newest technology and space.
Development Director Bill Kennedy says the Friends of the JRVLS have set two fundraising events this month to assist in the renovation costs. Friends member Zenithe Leininger says their first one is a collectible sale of Raggedy Ann & Andy memorabilia.
All of those funds will subsequently be donated to the library. Any leftover memorabilia will be donated to the Jamestown Salvation Army.
Kennedy says another fundraiser this month is a used book sale.
The book sale will be May 18th & 19th.
