LAMOURE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – LaMoure County has declared a fire emergency with burn restrictions.

“Open burning will be prohibited when the LaMoure County Fire Danger Rating is Very High or Extreme and/or a Red Flag Warning has been issued,” LaMoure County Emergency Manager Kim Robbins stated in a release. “Open burning will be allowed in LaMoure County when the Fire Danger Rating is Low, Moderate or High.”

Residents are asked to review the North Dakota Century Code for conditions regarding open burning. To begin an open burn (controlled burn), one should contact State Radio at 701-328-9921 or 1-800-472-2121 to provide the name, time and location of the burn

“The majority of LaMoure County is at the D0 drought designation for abnormally dry conditions,” Robbins pointed out.
