VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Area Chamber will host a Candidate Forum for Barnes County and Valley City Commission candidates tonight in the Hi Liner Activity Center.

In the Barnes County District #2 Commission race Shawn Olauson is running unopposed.

In District #3 Incumbent Bill Carlblom faces former commissioner Eldred Knutson.

In District #4 Terence R. Brock, Vicky Lovell, Erik Sand and Marcy Svenningsen are in the race. The top two vote getters in the June 12th primary will face each other in the November 6th general election.

In the Barnes County Sheriff’s race, Incumbent Randy McClaflin will face a challenge by Sue Maresh Lloyd who serves as the emergency manager.

And Barnes County Auditor: Beth M Didier, Recorder: Jody Pfaff, State’s Attorney: Carl L Martineck and Treasurer Vicki Zinck Metcalf are running unopposed.

The City of Valley City will have three city commission seats on the ballot for the June 12th election. Mayor Dave Carlsrud is running unopposed. While, Corey Neseth, Jeff Erickson and incumbent Duane Magnuson will be seeking two positions in the June 12th city commission race.

Again the Valley City Area Chamber Candidate Forum for Barnes County and Valley City Commission candidates will be held tonight in the Hi Liner Activity Center starting at 6:00 pm. The forum will be video streamed live on NewsDakota.com and on KOVC Radio 1490AM and also on 96.3FM. The public is encouraged to attend.
