ABERDEEN, S.D. (NewsDakota.com)- VCHS baseball traveled to Aberdeen on Thursday to play a pair of games. Thursday wasn’t a kind day to the Hi Liners, as they would drop both games by scores of 11-1 and 12-2.
In the first game Valley City got on the board first scoring a run in the top of the 3rd to take a 1-0 lead. That lead was short lived as Aberdeen would put up 3 in the 3rd followed by 6 in the 4th. Another 2 runs in the 5th would put an end to the game by the run rule. A total of 6 Hi- Liner errors would not help starting pitcher Devin Anderson, who went 3.2 innings giving up 7 runs( 2 earned) on 7 hits while walking 1 and striking out 6.
The second game would come to be the same ending of the first. A tie game of 2-2 after the top of the third would see Aberdeen put up 10 unanswered runs to run away with the game and end it early.
Next up for Valley City is a trip Saturday to Fargo as take on Shanley at 11 am with 1 game to be played.
