OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Oakes High baseball team scored six runs in the first inning, and added another eight in the second inning to roll past Fargo Oak Grove 19-3 in four and a half innings Thursday evening.

The Tornadoes (1-1 Class B Region I) batted through the order in the first, second and fourth innings in a game that took exactly two hours to finish. Taylor Schall scored four times and was a home run shy of the cycle.

Brady McKenna earned his first varsity victory, going two and two thirds innings, allowing one run on two hits. Kaleb Card took the loss for the Grovers (0-2), lasting two innings, allowing 14 runs on 11 hits.
