OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) 46 members of the Oakes Archery Club will be competing at the National Archery in the Schools Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky the second week of May.
The entire elementary and middle school teams qualified after winning state championships in Minot recently, in addition to several high schoolers.
The club is in the process of conducting fundraisers to cover expenses for the group. A raffle ticket campaign is underway until April 25, with chances to to win $100 weekdays in May, $500 on May 1 and 30, and $1,000 on May 31 for just $20 a ticket. Tickets can be bought from any club member.
In addition, the club is putting on a feed Saturday May 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hockenberry Park in Oakes; serving burgers, hot dogs, brats and pulled pork along with beans, chips, pickles and bars. Cost is $8 a person, or $40 for a family of five or more.
Donations can also be made at First Community Credit Union in Oakes.
