JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Zonta Club of Jamestown has named Dr. Polly Peterson the recipient of the 3rd annual Outstanding Women Leader award.
Dr. Peterson was one of five other nominees that were up for the honor. The organization decided that this year, they would only pick one to receive the award, but would recognize all the women nominated. The award was announced on April 7th during the 3rd Annual Zonta Brunch.
“We had an amazing group of nominees, it was very difficult to pick one winner,” stated member Kara Brinster. “Zonta’s mission is to empower women and this group of women showed us how they empower women every day. The event was truly a success in bringing all of these people together.
The other nominees for the award were Lisa Jackson, Joan Enderle, Joan Halverson and Courtney VanDyke.
Brinster says their speaker was also great.
“Our speaker, District Judge Cherie Clark, provided a glimpse into her past and entranced us with her insight into the power to persevere,” Brinster said.
Zonta meets the 1st Wednesday of every month at Shady’s in the Gladstone at 5:30pm. For more on the brunch, click here.
