VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There are three Barnes County Commission seats up for grabs:

In the District #2 Commission race Shawn Olauson will be running unopposed. Olauson serves on the Barnes County Water Resource District board. Incumbent commissioner Mike Metcalf is not seeking another term.

In District #3 Incumbent Bill Carlblom will be running against former commissioner Eldred Knutson.

In District #4 Terence R. Brock, Vicky Lovell, Erik Sand and Marcy Svenningsen are in the June 12th primary race. The top two vote getters there will be on the ballot in the November election. Commissioner Rodger Berntson will not seek another term after serving 20 years.

In the Barnes County Sheriff’s race, Incumbent Randy McClaflin will seek another term. He’ll face a challenge by Sue Maresh Lloyd who currently serves as the Barnes County emergency manager.

And Barnes County Auditor: Beth M Didier, County Recorder: Jody Pfaff, County State’s Attorney: Carl L Martineck and County Treasurer Vicki Zinck Metcalf are all running unopposed.
