TOLNA, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) The Midkota/Lakota/Dakota Prairie/Griggs County Central Mustangs High School Baseball team is currently practicing indoors at the Tolna school and getting ready for the 2018 regular season. Head Coach Rick Christianson, currently entering his 28th year as head coach, says that they would have already played five games if it wasn’t for the cold and snowy spring weather, but things are starting to look better with warmer temps in the forecast. The possibility for some regular season games in about a week and a half to two weeks is good, depending on future weather conditions. Last year, the Mustangs finished in third place in Region III and finished with a 12-11 overall record.
Christianson says that his team practices and plays most of their home games in Tolna and the field is looking good.
For the most part, the Mustangs return all of their starters from last years team.
Christianson says that Region III will be very good again this year.
Here are some goals for M/L/DP/GCC Mustangs.
Christianson, who started the Midkota baseball program in 1991, has some new assistants this year.
Currently, most games have been either postponed or cancelled last week, this week and next week, that’s basically the first three weeks of the season due to the spring weather.
