JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown Reiland Fine Arts Center will be busy all April.
University of Jamestown Director of Theater Mike McIntyre reports that April will hold many different things for the public to come and see.
The music, theater, and arts department will all have multiple things for the public to see. McIntyre says in the choir and bands, there will be an orchestra & chapel choir concert on April 16th starting at 7:30 PM. A few days later on April 19th, the jazz band will be holding their final concert of the year.
McIntyre says several people have stepped up since band director Laura Lynch is pregnant and expecting.
In the arts department, McIntyre says students have been preparing for the spring show and will have a large display of different art mediums on display beginning April 9th.
The display can be found in the main lobby of the Reiland Fine Arts Center.
Finally, in the theater department, McIntyre says he has been getting scenes and performers prepared for their production of “The Admirable Crichton”, written by J. M. Barrie in 1902. McIntyre says this comedic play will explore different social roles when a party gets stuck on a deserted island.
The production will be shown April 12th, 13th, and 14th and tickets can be found at uj.edu or by contacting the University of Jamestown Box Office. McIntyre says their theater schedule will wrap up May 3rd with a Night of One Acts. He says each one act has been written and directed by a University of Jamestown student. Tickets for both shows are $8.
