JAMESTOWN (NewsDakota.com) – After finishing one game away from the state tournament a year ago, the Jamestown High softball team will try to navigate a tough West Region and attempt to get back to state. The games scheduled for April 3rd against Legacy have already been postponed.
The Jays return four seniors, three of which have a ton of varsity experience including two state tournament appearances; Sydney Soulis, Hannah Schiele and Olivia Nihill. Kelsey Goter will also provide depth.
Last season, the Jays relied on two pitchers, eighth-grader Peyton Gall and freshman Alex Nihill, who will now be a year older and with some crucial experience from their first year. Ella Roaldson, Rachel Schiele and Jenna Fischer also among those young players, who were relied upon last year that are back with varsity experience.
The WDA will be tough again with Dickinson, Century and Minot picked to finish at the top. Jamestown, Bismarck, and Legacy fighting for the four spot.
