JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School Theater will present their production of “Marcy and the Sandwich: A Cafeteria Drama” on Thursday, April 5th.
The Alan Haehnel written play focuses on a girl named Marcy who shocks her friends and all the students in the cafeteria when she announces she’s about to take a bite of her sandwich. While the premise sounds comedic, Theater Director Tony McIntyre says it’s actually very clever.
McIntyre points out that while the story may seem silly, it holds a deeper meaning than just taking a bite out of a sandwich.
Students have helped create the characters and have given McIntyre input with the costumes and set, giving them a personal connection with the show as well.
The night will also feature some individual events as students prepare for the State Drama Competitions in Musical Theater and Monologue events in Devils Lake on April 9th & 10th.
The production will be put on for one night only on Thursday, April 5th at 7PM. Tickets will be $6 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens at the door.
