JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A 54 year-old man has been arrested following a March 19th incident in which he called police saying a woman had been shot twice and was dying before hanging up.
The Jamestown Police Department reports that Douglas Shawn Ferrell is facing charges of harassment and terrorizing for his role in the incident. Police reports show that the call came in just after 1 AM. Dispatchers located and traced the phone to the Buffalo Motel. Officers also found the cellphone used to make the call was registered to Ferrell.
Ferrell was taken into custody and a search of the motel did not turn up any victims and no injuries were reported. He was then taken to the North Dakota State Hospital before being transferred to the Stutsman County Correctional Center.
