JAMESTOWN, N.D. (PPN) – A Jamestown High School administrator suffered a case of “nicotine poisoning” after confiscating an e-cigarette from a student.

Nancy Neary is the Tobacco Control Director for the Central Valley Health District in Jamestown. She says Jamestown High Assistant Vice Principal John Conway confiscated an e-cigarette and accompanying liquid from a student in one of the school’s restrooms.

Neary says Conway got sick almost immediately.

Neary says it doesn’t take much of the liquid nicotine to cause health problems. She says young children could also be very susceptible to this.

Neary and the state Health Department want to dispel rumors that “e-cigarettes” and the liquids are nicotine free.
