JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Public Service Commission will hold two public input sessions on April 3 and 5 regarding a request from Otter Tail Power Co. to increase its rates for electric service.

The public input sessions will be held through interactive television to several locations across the state starting at 5 PM, including Jamestown at the James Valley Career and Technology Center in classroom A.

The second session will be at noon on April 5th, using a web conferencing system. People can join from anywhere if they have a computer with a camera and internet access. There will also be an option to join by telephone.

The PCS has reported that the proposed increase is for $13.14 million annually over current rates, or an 8.7% overall increase. If approved, rates would increase for residential customers by an average of about $11.50 a month. A typical business customer’s bill would increase by approximately $22 a month.
