JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown’s newest urgent care facility is up and operating.

Medallus Medical has been providing comprehensive Urgent Care and Primary Care services for more than 15 years. Their services include treating sore throats, fever, cuts, sprains, broken bones and more in a walk-in capacity.

The business will also provide primary care including physical exams, checkups, wellness, sports physicals and will treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, thyroid, asthma, arthritis, depression and anxiety.

President and CEO of Medallus Medical Dr. Rachot Vacharothone stated in February that the 3,000 square foot space and seven exam rooms could handle up to 100 patients daily. The average cost per visit will be around $131.

Roxanne Johnson will serve as the clinic nurse practitioner for family medicine and mental health. Jody Tanner will serve as the physician assistant on urgent care. Between 10 to 15 employees will be hired. Their site is located at 723 First Avenue South next to Quiznos and the UPS store.

The clinic has contracted with the Jamestown Public Schools to offer service with the staff. Superintendent Rob Lech states that they are not operating the clinic. They are just contracted so their staff can receive care through the center.

“It’s a common misconception we have been working through,” he reported.
