JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Stutsman County Wildlife Federation (SCWF) Arnie Swanson Conservation Scholarship Program was created to encourage young people to pursue careers in fish and wildlife management and conservation of natural resources.
The Stutsman County Wildlife Federation awards two scholarships annual for those seeking that education.
“These career opportunities include jobs in wildlife law enforcement, fisheries management, wildlife management, non-game specialists, wildlife conservation, natural resources and various related fields,” reports Cathleen O’Higgins, a member of SCWF.
The SCWF is a sportsman’s club that was founded in 1915 to promote sound wildlife management. The club sponsors and hosts several youth events annually including bird house building, youth fishing day, youth pheasant hunt, and archery programs.
O’Higgins says two $500 scholarships will be given to North Dakota High School seniors or college students pursuing college education in natural resource-related fields.
The deadline to submit applications is April 30th.
