BISMARCK, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 2018 Boys All-State Hockey Team was announced over the weekend and two members of the Jamestown Blue Jays received All-State accolades.
Senior goaltender Matthew Schneider and Senior defenseman Connor Fuchs were on the All-State team which is selected by the Coaches.
It is another postseason nod for Schneider who was named to the All-West Region team and was Boys Senior Athlete of the Year for the West Region. The netminder finished the season with a 14-12-0 record, 3.35 GAA and a 91.2 save percentage.
Fuchs was third in the state in scoring among defensemen with 7 goals and 24 assists. He to was named to the All-West Region team along with Devin Hoffman. Head Coach matt Stockert was named West Region Coach of the Year.
Jamestown lost to Bismarck High 3-1 in the Consolation Championship game of this year’s state tournament. It was the Jays first State Tournament appearance in five years.
Grand Forks Red River had four All-State selections. The two teams that played for the championship, Grand Forks Central and Bismarck Century had three each. Fargo Davies and Bismarck High had two each and Fargo North one.
