JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Women from across the state came together for the inaugural 2018 Women’s Business Summit in Jamestown on March 13th.
Jamestown Regional Entrepreneur Center Executive Director Katherine Roth states 82 women in business and those who were interested in starting a business participated.
“Attendees [came] from locations such as Napoleon, Bismarck, Fargo, Garrison, and Valley City to name a few,” Roth said.
Roth says several resources were available for the women who participated including the U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture- Rural Development, the ND Small Business Development Center, ND Procurement and Technical Assistance Center, ND Women’s Business Center, ND Compass, South Central Dakota Regional Council, and the Bismarck/Mandan/Jamestown SCORE.
“A significant percentage of attendees had been in business greater than 10 years,” Roth said. “Also a significant number less than ten years. Women interested in starting a business were also represented in the audience.”
The luncehon speaker was Sommer Jacob with Studio North out of Bismarck.
“She discussed the importance of branding for business,” Roth explained.
