JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown City Councilmember Dan Buchanan brought his concerns of reported cart defects during a recent city council meeting.
Buchanan says he was approached with a concern of the carts being delivered by the Recycle Center of North Dakota are not suitable for pickup and have some “defects.”
Mayor Katie Andersen informed the council and public to exercise some patience with the carts at this time.
Mayor Andersen says the temperature has been said to be a possible issue before the carts were delivered. She says the council and public should be celebrating the fact that carts were being delivered and curbside recycling seems to be coming along. City Administrator Sarah Hellekson pointed out that she had the same concern with the bins, which had been delivered from the south and assembled in Jamestown before distribution.
Councilmember Steve Brubakken says as far as pickup concerns, it will be up to Ralph Friebel and the Recycle Center to maintain communication with the city and residents on those issues if they arise.
The council will receive a recycling update during their public works committee meeting on March 24th at the City Hall.
