JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown Police are urging residents to look inside their vehicles after arresting a man found breaking into cars in the community.
Police report that 29 year-old Jared Fritz of Jamestown was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and theft.
Just before 10 Tuesday night, officers were called to the southeast part of Jamestown where a citizen reported someone going through his vehicle. The suspect fled the scene. At 3 AM this morning, officers were called back to the southeast on a different call, but found a man fitting the description from the earlier call going through another vehicle.
Police suspect Fritz went through around five cars in southeast Jamestown. Residents are asked to report any missing items from their vehicles to the Jamestown Police Department at 701-252-1000.
