VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Winter Show Classic Steer and Market Hog Auction was held March 4th at the Valley City Eagles Club.

Six steers were auctioned off. The base price for steers was 1.25 a pound.  Grant Lyons of Lisbon sold his 1416 pound steer to the Valley City Eagles Club for $1.83 a pound, total price $2591.28, a premium of $821.28.  Ethan Lyons sold his 1248 pound steer to Dakota Plains for $1.81 a pound, total price $2,258.88, a premium of $698.88. Danny Galbreath of Enderlin sold four steers, the first was a 1188 pound steer sold to Bonanza Agronomy Services for $1.89 a pound, total price $2245.32, a premium of $760.32. Danny Galbreath of Enderlin sold a 1195 pound steer to Plains, Grains & Agronomy for $1.92 a pound, total price $2294.40, a premium of $800.65. Danny Galbreath of Enderlin sold a 1083 pound steer to Nick Holm for $1.90 a pound, total price $2057.70, a premium of $703.95. Danny Galbreath of Enderlin sold a 1092 pound steer to Valley Eagles Club for $1.72 a pound, total price $1878.24, a premium of $513.24.

Four market hogs were auctioned off. The base price for hogs was .50 cents a pound. Isaac Mcleod of Lisbon sold his 230 pound hog to Don Schlotman & Tory Hart for $2.20 a pound, total price $506, a premium of $396. Lindsey Galbreath sold a 247 pound hog to Dick Nelson for $1.20 a pound, total price $296.40, with a premium of $172.90. Haley Mcleod sold a 225 pound hog to Embden Grain for $1.33 a pound, total price $299.25, with a premium of $186.75. Lizzie Mcleod sold a 230 pound hog to Columbia Grain for $1.60 a pound, total price $368, with a premium of $253.
