MINOT, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) For not being at the State Class B Girls Basketball Tournament in the history of the co-op, the Medina/Pingree-Buchanan girls basketball team looked like a team on a mission in the opening round Thursday night.

Lead by a 13-0 to start the second quarter, and finishing the game on a 15-1 run, the Thunder blasted past Watford City 62-20 to advance to the semifinals Friday night.

MPB, (23-2) won their 17th straight contest, due to shooting 65 percent from the field to Watford City’s (15-11) 15.4 percent.

Halle Uehran lead all scores with 17 points, Amanda Allen put in 13 and Taylor Sabinash added another 12 points in the victory. The Wolves had two players with five points each; Lindsay Peterson and Avery Sundeen.

The Thunder will meet Grant County at 8:15 Friday night. Coverage starts around 8 p.m. on Q101.1 FM and NewsDakota.com
