JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The 2018 Chamber Board of Directors and two past presidents of the chamber attended a “Lead Local” board development training facilitated by Lynette Flage and Jodi Bruns from the NDSU Extension Center for Community Vitality.
The training consisted of a variety of modules including Colors training, leadership, followership, how to work together, and discussion about the chamber strategic plan.
In attendance were Jason Rohr, Ag Country, President; K.C. DeBoer, JRMC, Vice-President; Tim Eggers, Dakota Central, Secretary-Treasurer; Nancy Miller, Jamestown Ambulance, current Past President; and directors, Bonnie Larson, D&B Portables; Matt Perkins, The Medicine Shoppe, Dr. Doug Frohlich, Professional Eyecare Centers; Sean Rinkenberger, First Community Credit Union; and Jodi Grugel, University of Jamestown.
Also present were Barb Lang and Paulette Ritter, who are past presidents and directors of the chamber. Unable to attend this training were directors Mary Lou Urquhart, Bank Forward; Kelsey Krapp, James River Law; and Tonya Perkins, Edgewood Senior Living. Also attending was Becky Thatcher-Keller, Executive Director of the chamber.
As a result of this board development opportunity, priorities were identified for the chamber strategic plan, and the board’s focus will be to ensure the chamber members have a variety of options for their member benefits, and to allow for opportunities for networking, member-to-member benefits, and marketing the businesses.
