JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Senior Center Home Delivered Meal Program has helped deliver thousands of meals since being established in Jamestown.

The Buffalo Mall has helped the program thrive by raising funds with their annual Soup Spectacular Cook-off. The 13th annual event first started as a Chili Cook-off, but Buffalo Mall Manager Bev Dawson says they changed it up a little bit three years ago.

Dawson reports that in 2017, the meal delivery program delivered upwards of 17,000 total meals.

Dawson points out that the March 10th cook-off would be a great chance for organizations or businesses to not only get involved in the fundraiser, but to also promote and market themselves.

Participation is free and individuals can pay $5 to try all the soups and vote for their favorite. All funds will be collected and donated to the James River Senior Center. The Jamestown Volunteer Center will also be having a bake sale to benefit the home delivered meals program.
