JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown man has been arrested after an early morning pursuit in the city Saturday, February 24th.
Jamestown Police reports say the pursuit began after 1 AM when a pickup without its headlights on was seen operating erratically and going through traffic signs. When police stopped the vehicle to issue a traffic citation, the pickup fled at a high rate of speed.
The driver later exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was found behind a residence in Southeast Jamestown and arrested without incident. 31 year-old Jake Walter Newick was charged with reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s office and North Dakota Highway Patrol assisted with the incident.
