OAKES, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Fire crews from Oakes and the State Fire Marshall’s office have begun their investigation into the structural fire that destroyed the office of the town’s weekly newspaper, as well as a small storage area, from over the weekend.

Fire Chief Jerry Hollingsworth says the blaze, which was called into authorities at 1:40 Sunday morning at 323 Main Avenue in Oakes will take about a week to fully determine the exact cause.

The building, which has housed The Oakes Time for the last several years, was a total loss. No injuries were reported.
