VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewDakota.com)- Making the most of their final regular season home game, The Hi-Liner girls’ basketball team defeated Fargo South and captured the 6th seed for The Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament. Led by 3 double figure scorers The Hi-Liners topped The Bruins 61-45.

Entering Thursday night, Valley City, Fargo North and West Fargo all owned identical 7-12 records. The Spartans beat Wahpeton while The Packers lost to Davies, since VCHS has won both games against North this season they own the tie-breaker.

Taryn Dieterle had a double double of 10 points and 16 rebounds. Courtney Lloyd scored 15 points and Lexi Ondracek 12. Mackenzie Pederson and Josie Berntson added 7 each.

Emmerie Beyer had 15 to led Fargo South.

The Bruins finish 10th in The EDC, they play at no.7 Fargo North Saturday. The 8-12 Hi-Liners host Grand Forks Central Saturday at The HAC in a play-in game. The game can be heard on 1490 AM/ 96.3 FM and NewsDakota.com
