VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A Valley City resident has asked the Southeast Judicial District Court to issue a Temporary Restraining Order against the city of Valley City.

The injunction said the city has failed in its due diligence in allowing the downtown streetscape project to move forward. The complaint states that irreparable harm will be done to the merchants of downtown Valley City.

City Attorney Lilie Mertins addressed the issued before the city commission at their regular meeting on February 20th.

Southeast District Judge Jay Schmitz is handling the case.

Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph said a lot of rumors are circulating about the Streetscape project and he addressed some the rumors and concerns that business owners and residents have about the Central Avenue project.
