JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown football team has inked 26 players as a start to their 2018 recruiting class. National signing day was Wednesday and most of the student-athletes in high school made their decisions on their future college.
They have signed two quarterbacks to come in and compete with Jordan Mann, who is the likely starter to begin the 2018 season. Billings (MT) QB Cade Torgerson, who will also pitch for the Jimmies, and Central Dakota QB Mason Smith.
Jamestown needed to get better at the WR position as well and added some guys they hope can come in and contribute right away.
Jimmie head coach Josh Kittell says that they feel further ahead this year than they have been in the past.
The Jimmie coaching staff hasn’t seen any effect on the move to the Great Plains Athletic Conference on the recruiting trail.
The Jimmies open their season on August 25th at home against Valley City State. The first GPAC game is at home against Concordia (NE) on September 15th.
