VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Three Barnes County Commission seats are up for election and two are up for grabs.

Barnes County Commissioner Mike Metcalf said he would not seek re-election in District two after serving one term. He said it was a rewarding experience.

And after serving on the county for 20 years, Commissioner Rodger Berntson will not seek another term. He encouraged people interested in running for his position in District Four to take out a petition and get on the ballot.

Barnes County Commission president Bill Carlblom said he will seek another term and run for re-election in District three.

The primary for candidates will be held June 12th and the general election in November 6th.
