JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – In 2017, the Stutsman County Commission voted to approve cancelling the contract with the CodeRED Notification System and switch to Everbridge.
Stutsman County Emergency Manager Jerry Bergquist reports that the switch won’t be possible this year once it was discovered that Richland and Stutsman were locked in a three year contract with CodeRED.
Bergquist says they would need to wait until 2019 before they could cancel CodeRED and proceed with Everbridge.
Currently, it costs $13,000 annually for CodeRED’s emergency notification service. This is compared to Everbridge, which would cost around $9,000. Bergquist says switching would not only save the county the $4,000, but would save more in the long run.
Bergquist says they will continue with CodeRED until December 2018, which by then they will have agreed to a contract with Everbridge to provide emergency notification service.
The Stutsman County Commission approved the motion.
