MADISON, S.D. (PlayNorthStar.com)- Valley City State University senior guard Lexi Lennon has been named the North Star Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season, the conference office announced Monday.

Lennon – who leads the conference in scoring at 18.5 points per game – averaged 21.5 points per game this weekend in helping the No. 17-ranked Vikings to a pair of victories. Lennon also was named NSAA Player of the Week on Jan. 1 and Dec. 11.

Lexi Lennon – Valley City State (N.D.) – 5’8″ – Senior – Guard – West Fargo, N.D. – Lennon averaged 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game as No. 17-ranked Valley City State (N.D.) went 2-0 for the week, extending their winning streak to six games.  She poured in 26 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the Vikings’ 88-70 victory over Dakota State (S.D.).  She followed up with 17 points and 4 rebounds in VCSU’s 62-54 win over Bellevue (Neb.).  Lennon moved into 5th all-time on the VCSU scoring list (1,382 career points).  She was 14-of-30 from the field (46.7 percent), 5-of-10 from the 3-point line (50 percent) and was near-perfect from the free-throw line by making 10-of-11 free-throws.
