LISBON, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- The Ellendale boys basketball team won their eighth straight game in a row, while the Lisbon girls won their seventh in a row after a doubleheader between the schools Saturday night.

Boys: Ellendale 34 Lisbon 27

The Cardinal boys, who were limited in strength due to the flu, were able to pick up an eighth consecutive victory thanks to a strong fourth quarter. Lisbon was outscored 13-6 in the final eight minutes to see their record fall to 4-10.

Ellendale, now 10-2, had a team hight 12 points from Hunter Thorpe, with Nathan Peterson added an addition 10. Wyatt Runck and Resse Holmstrom each had nine points in the loss.

Girls: Lisbon 39 Ellendale 34

The Bronco girls got off to a 10-0 start, and had a 25-9 lead at intermission. However, shooting started to become cold for Lisbon, managing only 11 points in the third to Ellendale’s 18, and only three points in the fourth.

Lisbon, with a record of 12-4, was lead by Elizabeth Lyons with 18 points. Kennedy Schimke had 10 points to lead the Cardinals, who now stand at 8-10.
