LAKES, IL (NewsDakota.com) – A Jamestown, North Dakota sailor has continued to serve his country through music.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Collin Moos of Jamestown has served in the Navy for the past 4 years as a musician. He is a graduate of Rollins College and is currently serving at Navy Band Great Lakes.
“My dream was to be a pilot, but my vision wasn’t quite where it needed to be,” said Moos. “Luckily, I discovered the Navy Music Program which allowed me to serve my country using my musical ability.”
According to their mission statement, the Navy’s “Ambassadors to the Midwest,” Navy Band Great Lakes serves Commander, Naval Service Training Command in support of community relations and Navy awareness in an 11-state area from Ohio to North Dakota.
They are directed by Lieutenant Geordie Kelly.
