N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – North Dakota Game & Fish has some different regulations regarding ice fishing in the state.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier says before, anglers needed something to identify their ice houses or castles while on the ice.
Leier says there are many ways to identify your ice house. One of those is an identification and equipment registration number through the Game & Fish Department.
Leier says unattended ice houses must be made out of material that can float. He also pointed out that if you want to setup within 50 feet of another ice house, you must gain consent of that ice house owner.
You can catch Doug Leier every Thursday at 7:20 AM on Big Dog Country 95.5 FM with JD in the Morning.
