JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – It’s being estimated that one of the coldest weekends ever will happen right at the end of 2017.

The Bismarck National Weather Service is reporting that life threatening wind chills will cover most of the state beginning tonight and continuing throughout the weekend.

Meteorologist Tyler Kranz reports that with those wind chills, frostbite can set in as little as 10 minutes.

Kranz encourages individuals to remain indoors if possible and limit outdoor time. The coldest day is expected to be this Saturday and Sunday with the highs around -10 to -20 degrees. Wind chills all weekend long are estimated to be anywhere from -35 to -50 degrees.
