N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The James River Valley Library System will be hosting a “Food for Fines” food and toiletry drive beginning in January.

“Bring in a non-perishable food or toiletry item to any branch of the James River Valley Library System during the month of January and we will forgive your overdue fines,” Assistant Director Jennifer Senger reports.

Senger says that all donations from January 2nd through the 31st will then be given to local food pantries. This excludes lost or damaged items.

“Only overdue fines for materials that have been returned late will be forgiven,” Senger explains.
