Valley City Grapplers Take 6th in Holiday Tournament

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Twenty one teams were part of Saturday’s Valley City Holiday Wrestling Tournament. The host Hi-Liners held tough with some of the top teams in the state finishing 6th overall, 7 wrestlers placed for Valley City.

Bismarck High was the team champion, they had a score of 264.5. Lisbon was 2nd with 151 and Mandan 3rd scoring 133.5. The Hi-Liners missed 5th place by half a point with their score of 124.5.

Individually, VCHS had 3 finish in 2nd place. Parker Larson (132), Logan Erlandson (182) and Jaden Oestern (285) fell in their title matches. David Peterson (160) and Jake Tangen (195) were 3rd place finishers. Jonathon Langer (152) finished in 4th and Cade Powers (182) was 8th.

Valley City will have some time off before they compete again, December 28th-29th they will take part in the 2 day Rumble on The Red Tournament at The Fargodome.
