N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Scammers have taken to using the Jamestown Regional Medical Center as a front to trick people into sending them money.
JRMC Marketing Manager Katie Ryan-Andersen says the JRMC has received reports from residents claiming that the calls are coming from the facility.
“Certainly, JRMC is not the only business scammers are impersonating,” Ryan-Andersen pointed out.
Scammers are claiming that individuals have won a prize or can quality for an extravagant vacation.
“JRMC would never make calls on this,” Ryan-Andersen stated. “What we’re worried about is people will think this is their healthcare provider and feel obligated to comply. We would hate for anyone to fall victim to this.”
Ryan-Andersen encourages individuals who receive this call to hang up and not give out personal information over the phone. She says to protect others by letting teams, friends and customers know that these are fraudulent calls.
