VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)-  LaMoure/Litchville-Marion became the 5th team to win 3 consecutive Barnes County Girls’ Basketball Tournament Championships. Saturday night playing in the 73rd title game The Loboes beat Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page 65-34.

Enderlin finished in 3rd, Milnor/North Sargent placed 5th and Maple Valley Enderlin 7th.

Place Game- Maple Valley 42  Griggs County Central 30

The Raiders scored 9 straight points to open the game and never trailed through 4 quarters on the way to a victory in the 7th place game. Courtney Hovelson produced a game high 14 points for The Raiders. Sierra Wendt added 13 points and 3 assist. Lindsey Pommerer had 9 points and Emma Tichy 3 points and 6 rebounds.

Kyrsten Sherlock led 13 points for The Cougars. Kennedy Hannesson produced 5 points and 5 rebounds. Ella Stokka and Kaylyn Briss

5th Place Game- Milnor/North Sargent 47 Barnes County North 26

Down 9-8 after the first quarter MNS pulled away from BCN by outscoring The Bison 21-11 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The Bulldogs were up 19-12 at halftime and 29-20 heading into the final 8 minutes.

Shelby Mund was 6 for 6 from the field with 13 points to lead MNS. Victoria Sandness was also in double figures with 10.

Clara Wieland collected 9 points and 7 rebounds to pace The Bison. Ashley Samek had 7 points and Tabitha Muncy and Bailey Soupir 4 each.

3rd Place Game- Enderlin 67 Sargent Central 41

Five registered double figures to lead The Eagles to their second straight 3rd place finish.  Brooke Christensen had nearly had a double double with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Katelyn Tingley added 13 and Kayla Tingley and Danica Wendel 11 each.

The Cadets got 13 points from Brynn Peterson and 11 from Allison Peterson. Enderlin shot 41% from the field and Sargent Central 26%.

Championship Game – LaMoure/Litchville/Marion 65 Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page 34

Jackie Meiklejohn scored 13 points in the first half when the Loboes opened up a 38-14 lead on the way to their third straight BCT championship. Meiklejohn finished with 18 points. Anna Holen added 18 points and Ellie Holen chipped in 13 points.

The Loboes caused 22 turnovers and held the Spartans to under 30 percent shooting for the game.

Mikayla Koening led the Spartans with 14 points. Cierra Jacobson had five points.
