VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com)- Finley-Sharon/Hope-Page held off a late push from Enderlin to end the 2nd day of The Barnes County Girls’ Basketball Tournament. The Spartans won 62-55 and will now play the 2 time defending champions LaMoure/Litchville-Marion for the tournament title Saturday night at 7:30. The Loboes were 76-42 winners against Sargent Central in their semifinal game.

Barnes County North 52 Maple Valley 25

The Bison advanced to the consolation championship thanks in large part to a 21-6 run in the third quarter, and shooting 42.3 percent from the field, compared to the Raiders 14.3 percent.

BCN had three players in double figures, lead by Ashley Samek with 18 points. Clara Wieland added 12 and Tabitha Muncy put in another 11.

Sierra Wendt had a team high eight points for Maple Valley, still seeking their first victory this season.

Milnor/North Sargent 50  Griggs County Central 31

The Bulldogs earned their first victory of the season, starting the game on a 12-0 run and never looking back.

Dylan Frederick had a double-double in the victory for MNS with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Daphne Kenninger lead the winless Cougars in scoring with 7 points.

LaMoure/Litchville-Marion 76 Sargent Central 42

The Loboes scored 6 straight to open the game and never fell behind leading by as much as 34 points. Anna Holen registered a game high 20 points, teammate Olivia Bliss scored 14 and Ellie Holen 14. LLM shot 50% from the field.

Sargent Central’s Allison Peterson was her team’s led scorer with 16 points. Alisha Zirnhelt was also in double figures with 11 points. The Cadets were 38% from the field.

The Spartans went into the final quarter up 46-37 and were pushed by The Eagles in the final period. They pulled within 6 points into the final minute and hit some late free throws to hang on for the win. Enderlin outscored FSHP 18-16 in the final quarter.

Dacotah Bergstrom collected her second straight double double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. The Spartans had 2 more eclipse 10 points, Cierra Jacobson scored 18 points and Mikayla Koenig 10.

Danica Wendel grabbed 16 points off the bench to pace The Eagles. Hope Lindgren scored 14 and was 3 for 4 in 3 point attempts. Brooke Christensen had 8 points and 7 rebounds.
