CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A public input meeting to discuss proposed renovations along Central Avenue in Valley City from Main Street to 5th Street north will be held tonight from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the Hi-Liner Activity Center.
Valley City was selected for Governor Burgum’s Main Street Initiative which focuses on revitalizing downtown business districts in North Dakota.
The city and KLJ engineering will conduct the public input meeting and City Administrator David Schelkoph said public input is strongly encouraged.
For those unable to attend tonight’s meeting, a second meeting will be held Monday, December 11th. The second meeting will be held in the High School Cafeteria on the evening of December 11th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
Under the proposal, 80 percent of the project will be paid for by the state, with 20 percent covered by the city. City officials say there will be no special assessments for downtown business owners. The estimated cost is $1.5 million.
