N. D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High boys basketball team lost their opening game on the road at Davies, 71-61 on Tuesday night.
Trailing 21-12, the Jays went on a 14-4 run to take the lead and closed the half on a 25-11 streak. Jared Kallenbach scored nine of his team-high 18 in the first half. Bryan Moslof added seven.
The offense that went into the break, didn’t come out of halftime. Davies turned up the defense and Jamestown struggled to just 11 points in the first 14 minutes. “We didn’t share the ball very well in the second half,” said head coach Jacoby Lloyd.
Kallenbach got hot in the final minutes and nearly pulled the Jays back into the game. He had a three point attempt with a minute to go to cut the lead to four, but it rattled out.
Jamestown is off until Tuesday when they travel to Bismarck for a game with the Demons. The boys game will follow the girls on ESPN Jamestown beginning at 6pm.
