CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – More than $70,000 was raised during the Barnes County Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign last year. The 2017 campaign starts Friday, November 24th in Valley City.

Bell ringers will be stationed at Leveers Foods, Shopko and Marketplace Foods in Valley City. Those who want to be bell ringers should call Joe Lunde at 845-1974.

Salvation Army spokesman Lee Isensee said the residents of Barnes County have been so generous and they look forward to another great year ahead. Reporter Steve Urness interviewed Isensee and Joe Lunde about the upcoming Red Kettle campaign.

Isensee said for those who receive requests from the Salvation Army in the mail, just place your donation in that envelop and drop it off at a Red Kettle in Valley City. He said your contribution will stay in the community to help those in need.
