(NewsDakota.com) The LaMoure-Litchville/Marion volleyball team has a chance to earn their 44th victory of the season Saturday evening when they meet Thompson.

Defeating the Tommies would set the Loboes as a true dynasty in Class B Volleyball and accomplish something that’s never been done before: back-to-back-to back State Championships.

LLM (43-1) started off slow in their semifinal game against Minot Our Redeemers Friday night at the FargoDome, but eventually wore down the Knights to win three sets to one by scores of (22-25, 25-22, 25-20 and 25-19 to advance to the State Championship round.

Senior Anna Holen had a team high 26 kills for the Loboes to go along with 37 digs, while sophomore Ellie Holen added another 12 kills and 19 digs.

MOR (37-8) saw senior Karlee Zablotney carry the load with 10 kills and 21 digs.

The Knights will play Langdon Area/Edmore/Munich at 3 p.m. Saturday for third place, as Thompson defeated the Cardinals in five sets in the earlier semifinal.

Other scores from Friday saw Watford City sweep Bismarck Shiloh Christian and Central Cass rebound from the loss to the Loboes Thursday with a three sets to one win over Dickinson Trinity.

Saturday’s play starts at 11 a.m. with the seventh place match pitting Shiloh against Trinity. At 1, the fifth place game will see Central Cass and Watford City meet. At 3 p.m. is the third place match between Our Redeemers and Langdon.

The 2017 North Dakota State Class B Volleyball Championship Match is set for 5 p.m. between LaMoure-Litchville/Marion and Thompson. Coverage on TED-FM 98.3/102.7 FM and NewsDakota.com is set for around 4:45 p.m.
