FARGO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – McKayla Kurtz paced the offense and the Jamestown High volleyball team won their quarterfinal matchup with Davies in the Class A state tournament, 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-22).
After picking up a pair of wins in the first two sets, Jamestown trailed by seven in the third set. They went on a 13-3 run to take a 19-17 lead. Davies got within one at 23-22, but Jamestown closed it out with an Alyssa Ukestad ace.
Kurtz lead the way with 17 kills. Megan Gaffaney had five kills to go along with 39 assists.
Mandan won an epic five-setter over West Fargo in an upset to move onto the semifinals. They will get the Jays on Friday night at 5pm at the Fargodome.
