N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Considered a holiday for many, the North Dakota deer gun season will officially begin today.
The regular gun season for deer opens November 10th and will close November 26th in North Dakota. The North Dakota Game & Fish made 54,500 licenses available in 2017, 5,500 more than in 2016.
Game & Fish Wildlife Biologist Doug Leier reports that while the numbers may be lower, the deer opener continues to be one of the biggest moments for hunters in the state. With that in mind, Leier is encouraging everyone to use safety and caution.
Leier says for those without the tag this year, hunters are encouraged that the duck and geese numbers are still good in the area.
You can listen to Doug Leier every Thursday on Big Dog 95.5 FM with JD in the Morning.
